I'm heading to Ottawa for a week and the casino (across the river in Quebec) is debuting their electronic hold'em poker tables this Friday. I'm figuring the tables will be juicy with everyone wanting to try out the new game. But has anyone ever played on these electronic tables? Any tips?

Figured I'd give a quick update to anyone thinking of going to any of the Quebec casinos with their Pokerpro electronic tables.

As I expected, first couple days with the new machines was like shooting fish in a barrell. Watched one guy donate 5 buy-ins in 20 minutes calling down any pair or A high. The competition at both Leamy and Montreal was relatively soft at 1/2 NL and 2/5 NL. 5/10 NL in Montreal got a bit more dangerous as the sharks started to congregate there. I'm not the best with my live reads but 80% of the people at the tables were textbook reads - and made it quite obvious too.

About the machines, overall I liked them and wouldn't mind seeing them in a few more casinos. You get a lot more hands per hour and chip stacks are easily readable. Two big drawbacks, there's no dealer to hurry the action along which became an issue if someone was in a hand and stepped away for a second. They aren't timed out of the hand and the game just pauses until you can find a host or get pissed off and act on his touchscreen.

Second, the fold and fold/show buttons are way to close to each other. Had a couple misclicks, including one that ruined a finely, crafted table image I spent a good hour building.
