You played it perfectly on the flop. I don't necessarily like the limp on the button but thats just me. I am either raising in that spot or folding. If you would of raised you would of got taken off the hand by the AK guy who limped but thats results oriented.

I would probably pop that to $2.50 preflop in position like that but only 40% of the time.

I think the long run you'll be just fine. What % of hands do you raise currently?

EDIT: my advice is always based on 100BB, i didn't notice you were short

1. Don't play short. It makes it too easy for bad players to make bad calls and catch.

2. Try not to limp on the button. It's almost always better to make the blinds define their hands rather that catch something silly with 63o that you can't expect.

Your play was fine, to re-re raise with a gutshot and overs is just bad poker, you want to get this play from your opponents.

The play is fine, not sure what you're looking for here. Where is it that you are questioning that you went wrong?

I don't think there's any problem limping behinf there. A raise may be fine sometimes too, but limping is fine. It allows you full use of your position later in the hand.

Thanks for the many replies. They have been very useful and informative. I am currently doing quite a lot of experimenting with playing short stacked so am not always positive my actions are correct.

Looking at this hand now I see that he had to call. And with my slim advantage that is what I (should) want him to do. What probably annoyed me was the runner runner straight but any spade or ace would have had the same effect.

Thanks for the comments all, sometimes you just need to hear/see it from someone else! As the say in La Belle Proence Mercy Buckets!
