At a game recently. One guy (red we'll call him) bought some tacos for everyone, lots of thanks around.

Well, he was sitting just to the right of me, in a no limit holdem game. Both of us have 50 or so dollars in front of us, I have him covered.
I get pocket 6es and the flop comes 4 6 10.
He checks it. I tell him I'm being nice, thanks for the tacos, and bet big. He just calls.
Turn comes another 6, for quads. He bets me. I tell him again that I'm really trying to be nice, and I raise big, he goes all in and I call...
He turns over pocket 10s
Well, the river didn't help him and he was gone. Guess I shouldn't have tried to be nice.

Being nice doesnt get you anything, especially on the poker table. "Nice guys finish last."

Well you tried to be nice. He probably thought you were bluffing him. Hahaha! He probably still thinks you did some reverse psychology on him to get him to go all in.
