The two best places to play in Edmonton are River Cree and Argyll...River Cree is hosting a big tourney at the start of November, $1500 buyin with Brad Booth as special guest/promoter of event...Argyll and Yellowhead host CPT events every few months, I hate the Yellowhead, horribly run room, I avoid it as much as possible, but the action at River Cree is awesome..

Oh yeah, Argyll is technically called "Casino Edmonton" but everyone goes by Argyll cause its located on Argyll Rd and 75th st, southside of Edmonton...it's nothing fancy, but has a good staff, although they've lost lots of good dealers and such to River Cree...best to go on Friday, Saturday nights, lots of loose action post-bar scene and stuff, and they recently increased the 1-2NL buyin max to $500, probably to compete with River Cree

Baccarat casino downtown is alright. It's pretty small though, and their ring games are typically 3/6 limit and 4/8 dealer's choice (holdem, Omaha hi, pineapple and crazy pineapple). Sometimes there's a 1-2 NL get that gets going.

For tournaments they still have them every Monday and Wednesday night $55 buyin at 7pm, and a tournament on Saturday afternoons (not sure of the buyin).
