Trying to work on my tourney game since cash has been brutal lately. I know I have a leak of letting go of big slick, but was looking for some feedback on whether I could have avoided going busto. Villain had moved to the table an orbit ago and had limp/called a couple pots preflop and got away from the action post. No real reads though.

I don't think you should be folding top 2 there ever unless the other guy is a complete nit. Since he is showing down 89s he's clearly not a complete nit. You definitely see hands like AxJc and the like way more often here than a flopped flush.

I'm not folding there ever for 10bbs.

same, except you bet a little more (you cant let someone with a lone club have free/cheap cards).

particularly if its h2h at that point.

c/r all-in onflop is most optimal in my mind.

a min c/r and leaving yourself a decision and giving him odds to see the turn is a bad play here imo

Doesn't betting anymore automatically commit me? It was a 2/3 pot bet and my thinking was if he shoves, I probably tank and let it go. I still have 15bbs.

His min re-raise had me thinking I probably have his range beat.

TY for the advice all.

I didn't realize when I posted that you actually had 20bbs. I saw the above and assumed you had less. I still probably felt but now there is a 10% chance I can get away from the hand depending on reads.

With top 2 don't you want to be committed?

If you want real responses about the hand and your play don't show results plz. Other than that.. no, you played fine, and you should definitely not even consider mucking here. Get your money in asap.. no cute **** you dont wnat ot give any cheap cards -- this is your hand to double

Fold it if you're not sure or shove it if you're feeling it. Don't raise a small amount and give him the turn cheap. Make him pay for the cards.
