Casino Montreal is still doing market research as to how poker is PLAYED, so the room should either be a bust because there doesn't seem to be an poker personnel involved or else they'll be well verseed in it by the time it opens.

In fact, now I hear they're moving the caisno and won't be starting any new projects (like a poker room).

So yeah, 2006 has been donwgraded from optimistic, to miracle...

No idea, just unconfirmed rumours.

2006 is off... Here's the scoop:
They were talking about opening a new casino downtoen and adding poker, I don't know what the progress is there.
What I do know is that the casino is bringing poker in, electronically.
Get this: you will sit at a poker table full of opponents, with a pc instead of cards and chips - GARBAGE!

There are internet cafes that offer the same service and you won't get sucked into the craps tables!!!!

Casino de Montreal is getting poker! it's 100% for sure. It has been agreed upon. Although there will be no actual dealers. It will be onscreen play for any of you who have seen thoose new poker machines. when you put your hands on the screen your crads slowly flip up. The computers will be set up with each other and it would replace the dealer.

I guess its good that Quebec is finally getting poker. Consider me a traditionalist - I'd prefer real chips and real cards, even though I can see the benefits of going high-tech.

I'm sure the next stage will be linking the virtual tables for tournaments but it sure makes for a lame televised event....

I read in the gazette they were getting poker, was all excited to play. Now that i found out its those video tables, i don;t think it will be nearly as big a hit as expected

The one upside of it is, you won't have to tip the dealer.

This is horrible news, I was planning a trip to Montreal for my Birthday in August, but I hate video machines. I'd rather just play online poker.

Sounds like the 3 Quebec casinos are each getting poker and going half/half with felt and electronic.

Reported time frame is having things ready by November.

Does anyone know anywhere else I can find a good game in Montreal in the meantime?
