This guy was playing anything. I got my QQ and raised everyone except 1 out of this pot. He called with his 58 offsuit and made a straight on the flop.

When you only double the blind with a big hand, you are begging all players, ESPECIALLY the big blind, to crack your hand.

All he had to do was call your pansy raise and he had a pair and an open ended straight draw.

I did the same to someone who had AA in a tournament. Blinds were 10/20 (Level 1). He was under the gun and just called. The guy on the button made it 40, I was on my big blind with 78s, so I called. The guy with bullets made it 80, but there were still 5 people in the hand, so I called again (getting 11-to-1 on this call...)

The flop came 456 rainbow. I put all-in, he called with AA. An A came on the turn, but the river was a blank, so he still lost it, and then started calling me names before he finally left...

You gotta raise it 4x if you want your raise to mean anything, mostly in a tournament.

Thanks Dekar. Duly noted.

That's what i figured. It's best to win a little then lose a lot. I guess I was trying to get more for my money by raising so little to try to entice more people to play. Stupid mistake. Now Back to the tables!
